Bug Description

Binary package hint: emacs22

A new frame opened through File/New Frame get a totally different color scheme than the original instance. I would expect new frames to have the same color and setting as the initial frame.

Ubuntu Hardy, Emacs 22.1-0ubuntu10

What method are you using to set the color scheme?

no method, just the default installation

and, i do know that there is a default-frame-alist and a initial-frame-alist that control the different behaviors. i just think that for the default install both should be identical.... which they actually are, but the color schemes are still different

I'm going to need to see some screenshots, because I don't understand what you mean.

sorry for the late response

The problem is cause by the emacs-extra package.
It does this:
(set-background-color "black")
(set-foreground-color "white")
(set-cursor-color "Steelblue")
