I have g15daemon and g15stats running without issue, but when I run g15mpd, I get the attached long error message and dumped data.

What Andrew said. The error message I get on 12.04 Precise amd64 with g15mpd version1.2svn.0.svn319-3ubuntu1 is a bit different though, but it's a segfault.
