Can't select text using the mouse in text areas

In all the text areas I've tried in Launchpad, like in the one I input this description while filing the bug, I've noticed that I can't select text using the mouse. For example selecting a large block of text in order to delete it easily. I can select text using the shift and arrow keys, though, and I can also select text in single line input fields.

I have seen this problem only on the Launchpad site, for example the text areas when editing the wiki pages don't have this problem.

I have this problem only in Opera, Firefox seems to work fine.

Works for me in Opera 8.5 for Mac. I can't debug this until I have access to Opera for Linux.

The problem still exists for me in Opera 8.5 for Linux. If you're interested, Ubuntu packages of Opera are available from http://www.opera.com/download/index.dml?platform=linux

It's not impossible that it was some bug in Opera (or somehow the bug got fixed). I'm using 9.0 Preview 1 now, and I can select the text in textareas.
