i8kctl displays wrong values

Bug Description

Binary package hint: i8kutils

i8kctl displays wrong values

i8kctl
1.0 (null) XXXXXXX 50 1 1 71970 88320 0 -1

the values for the fan speed are defenitely to high

compared to the output of cat /proc/i8k which is

cat /proc/i8k
1.0 A02 XXXXXXX 49 1 1 71250 88320 -1 -22

i8kctl does not pick up the BIOS version.

running Hardy on a Dell Latitude D810

lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu hardy (development branch)
Release: 8.04

apt-cache policy i8kutils
i8kutils:

the symptom is reproducible with ubuntu 8.10:
$ cat /proc/i8k
1.0 A09 F9TC02J 47 -22 0 27660 0 -1 -22
on a DELL Inspiron 6000 which has only 1 fan.
