Does this problem still occur for you? If so could you let us know what version of Kubuntu/KDE you are currently running?

Could you also let us know what version of system-config-printer-kde you currently have. You can get this from the output of the command sudo apt-cache policy system-config-printer-kde.

I was seeing this crash when adding a HP Photosmart C6180 network driver, it now seems to have been fixed.

Now, when I click OK on the Printer Name/Description/Location and there is a space in the Printer Name, there is a popup that flashes momentarily, before disappearing. It works properly if I replace the space with an underscore.

For reference:
$ sudo apt-cache policy system-config-printer-kde

Marking this bug as fixed. Could you report your second bug as a separate bug? It's nearly impossible to track multiple issues in one report. Thanks!

Jonathan,

The previous comment was an accidental post in the wrong bug. The other bug has already been reported and a fix committed upstream as bug 283575
