Bug Description

Binary package hint: cdrom-detect

Possibly related to #210200

The Hardy amd64 beta ISO boots on this system, but fails in the same way as #210200. It's unable to detect the built-in CD-ROM drive, and prompts me to load extra drivers.

The i386 server CD likewise fails to detect the CD-ROM drive.

I installed hardy beta via PXE, and then booted from that installation. These are the dmesg output and lspci -vvvvn for the installed i386 hardy beta system on the DL320s.

This is reproducible with 8.04 beta, but not with current daily (specifically, amd64 alternate)

Chris says this is fixed now (I imagine due to a kernel change), so I'm going to close this out. Please reopen if it recurs.
