Bug Description
Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
The ability to create a new folder is no longer in the "Bookmark this page"/"Page Bookmarked" dialog boxes. While I understand that we can now create tags, this does not alleviate the need for folders. Please restore this feature that has been in previous versions of Firefox.

I have the same problem with Firefox 3.0b5 (update from Gutsy to Hardy beta): new folders and bookmarks disappear on every Firefox restart.
The source of the problem it's seem to be inside the "~/.mozilla/ firefox/ *.default/ " folder. There are two bookmarks files into this folder:
"bookmarks. html" and "bookmarks. postplaces. html"
Rename the first of them to "bookmarks. html.something" fix the problem. I suspect that "bookmarks.html" (posibly the original bookmarks file from Gutsy's Firefox) is updating the "bookmarks. postplaces. html" content on every Firefox restart.
