gnome-panel crashes often & restarts

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

Symptom: if gnome-panel crashed the working window like Firefox which is in maximized mode maximizes to complete window as the panel is gone until it restarts what causes Firefox to fit again into window with panel; also the bug-report came then up NOT always!

If aMSN is running the amsn-icon dropped out of the icon-bar in the gnome-panel and will not be back again in the bar - which works well with pidgin very well.
