Bug Description

Binary package hint: fceu

gfceu/fceu sound support is broken by the audio changes in hardy, with or without the use of aoss. Using Hardy Beta on amd64, last updated 2008-03-29 07:03 GMT with fceu 0.98.12-3.

Rather than using aoss, you can try padsp, i.e.,
padsp /usr/games/fceu -sound 1 -fs 0 -opengl 0 "/media/deskaheh/fun/games/nes/PUNCH.NES"

Also, if bug 254352 is fixed (fceu is updated to 2.0), then this bug should disappear.

that sort of works, but (maybe it's just my audio chip?) the audio is choppy and slow, and since video output appears to be synchronous with audio output, that makes the games play slow, and sometimes hangs the fceu process such that onisand I have a core2duo, and it's only eating 7% of my cpu.

Probably it's best to focus efforts here...

I have tested this in Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic and FCEU seems to freeze if sound is enabled. Disabling sound allows you to execute the ROM without it freezing.

Seems to work on 12.04.1 / amd64. Don't currently have access to a 10.4 machine.
