Bug Description

Binary package hint: mozilla-firefox

it's great that now firefox integrates with my gnome theme, however menus still look different, they are not smooth

The menus that you posted look normal to me. What exactly should i be looking for or at in the .png?
What version of firefox, ubuntu are you seeing this on? Do you have firefox*--gnome-support package installed?

Yes i have installed both "firefox-gnome-support" and "firefox-3.0-gnome-support".
This is not only about mainmenu font but also affects toolbar and context menu fonts. Look closer and try to compary with firefox2. On firefox2 it looks nice. I've attached another screenshot of ff2 and ff3 menus. Also compary with the gnome menu.
Firefox 3 menu font is not smooth as used to be on ff2.

Ok I know what the problem is. Seems like Firefox 3 is using system settings where I've set font hinting on. Try enabling it and you will see the difference.

What font settings do you have in firefox preferences dialog?
