Bug Description

Firefox often shows images a little bit (but sometimes more than half) deplaced to the top so that you cannot see the upper part any more, but the frame, where the lower part should be, is filled with black. Sometimes I can't see half the image. Right-clicking on it and selecting "View Image" results in showing the whole, normal image.
The first screenshot following shows an automatically scaled image to fit the screen, you can see the black part on the bottom. The second screenshot shows the same image in original size, now the whole image is shown.

I am using Firefox 3.0~b4+nobinonly-0ubuntu1 on Hardy amd64, all updates applied.

I confirm this bug. I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy. Firefox shows me no image (only a black square as the size of the scaled image) until i click on it, then it shows me the image on its original size. P.S.: my linux box is fully updated. Oh.. and this doesn't seem to happen all the time, say, for different sorts of image size, extension, etc.

Oh, this seems to be a duplicate of bug 182038. Showing only a part of an image seems to be one flavour of it.

Adding the following option to the device section in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf might solve the issue four you as it did for me:

Section "Device"
...
        Option "AccelMethod" "EXA"
EndSection

I have an ATI Radeon Xpress 200 M (1002:5975).
