Bug Description

Binary package hint: ark-kde4

In the Settings Menu there is no Configure Ark entry like in the KDE3 version or other KDE programs.

I think this should be fixed for consistency reasons.

Im using ark 2.9.999 from KDE 4.0.2
ark-kde4 4:4.0.2-0ubuntu2

Thank you for filing this bug. I am marking this as a wishlist since ark is indeed missing some options that it had in KDE3, but ark is incomplete for KDE 4.0. You may want to consider filing wishlists for missing features at bugs.kde.org, but most likely the kdeutils developers are already aware of this and working on it for 4.1.

However, this isn't really a consistency problem. There is no reason to have a settings module if there are no settings needed.

The generally idea of configuration dialogs in KDE 4 is to keep them as clear as possible, or in case of ark, to get completely rid of them if they are useless. This is also what Kubuntu is doing aiming for with changing default settings to a more userfriendly direction. Thus marking as won't fix.

You can, however report a wish on http://bugs.kde.org - I am very confident, that with increasing feature set of the new Ark, also the configuration dialog will reappear, also without wish on bug.kde.org ;-)
