My webcam 041e:405f not working in Hardy

I am using Ubuntu Hardy Heron development branch.
My webcam device 041e:405f was not working in Gutsy also. I downloaded a driver from the following website
 http://www.rastageeks.org/ov51x-jpeg/index.php/Main_Page. It worked after installation of that driver. After upgrade to Hardy Heron, my webcam stopped working. I visited the site again and downloaded the driver suitable for Hardy and installed through package manager. Even then, webcam does not work. My webcam is listed in the usb list. There is no directory with the name /dev/video0. It is gone! I do not know how to proceed in fixing this problem. Ca someone help me? Thanks.

I am using Natty and I suffer from a symmilar problem.
