wish: Filtering / Sorting (grouping) popover tool in the Manage Accounts dialog

CONTEXT

The main window / accounts summary dialog has the wonderful ability to change the accounts grouping/sorting (by account Type, Group, or Institution) as well as the ability to hide/show closed accounts (the "Show All" checkbox). I use all of those features regularly.

Over the years, I've grown to have a lot of accounts, especially when doing short-term guaranteed investments (not stocks, but fixed rate fixed term investments where your funds are frozen for a year and then the bank gives them back with interest). The problem with that is the "Manage Accounts" dialog becomes pretty messy; I currently have 38 accounts listed, and surely it will grow into the hundreds eventually. Although you can do a search on the account name, that might not be sufficient by itself.

PROPOSED GENERAL IDEA

It doesn't have to be the exact same popover widget, but it would be nice to be able to:

* at least temporarily hide the closed accounts from the list; this would apply only while the dialog is open, but would reset to showing all accounts afterwards in subsequent uses, to avoid users panicking. Being able to get the historical closed accounts out of your view might be useful over time when 90%+ of your accounts are historical and closed.

* visually distinguish closed accounts when they are shown: Closed accounts could show with 50-70% text opacity in the list when mixed with non-closed accounts

* maybe a way to regroup/sort by account type/group/institution, to make it easier to manage them in batches when you need to correct something? Though it seems that dialog is currently for ordered through manual sorting, so maybe what you'd want is filter togglebuttons instead (like those in the Scheduled transactions dialog)?

I hope you'll like some of these ideas.

I have myself a lot of accounts and it's a challenge.
I try to change account order so it can be easier to follow
