Bug Description

When trying to play a multimedia file with a .MOV extension (an Apple QuickTime movie file), Moblin Media displays the following error message: "The stream type is not supported. Playback cannot continue."

I checked to see which GStreamer plug-ins were installed - here is the list:

gstreamer-dbus-media-service 0.1.17
gstreamer0.10-alsa 0.10.14-1ubuntu3
gstreamer0.10-audiosink
gstreamer0.10-colorspace
gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg 0.10.2-2ubuntu1
gstreamer0.10-gnomevfs 0.10.14-1ubuntu3
gstreamer0.10-plugins
gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad 0.10.5-4ubuntu1
gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-multiverse
gstreamer0.10-plugins-base 0.10.14-1ubuntu3
gstreamer0.10-plugins-farsight 0.12.2-1ubuntu1
gstreamer0.10-plugins-good 0.10.6-0ubuntu4
gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly 0.10.6-0ubuntu2
gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-multiverse
gstreamer0.10-tools
gstreamer0.10-videosink
gstreamer0.10-x 0.10.14-1ubuntu3

I tested it with several .MOV files and it failed with all of them. They all played successfully on my notebook running Ubuntu 7.10 using the Totem Movie Player.

I will include an attachment later with a failing media file but I suspect any .MOV file will fail.
