Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdeutils-kde4

Anyone else notice that ark-kde4 ships without an icon of any kind? I couldn't find an xpm, png, or svg icon anywhere on my system or contained in the package.

It should be easy to rectify the situation.

BTW, anyone know if this is a bug upstream too? Or maybe this is just a Kubuntu "issue".

Hi echoes,

I can`t confirm this problem. I installed Kubuntu-KDE4 today and updated it. For me Ark has an Icon.

please confirm if has "problem" is already solved for you, or still remains.

I don't know that anything has changed. If something did change regarding the icon, I would have seen it with an update.
I reinstalled ark-kde4 but there still isn't an icon. Unless it is only included in the oxygen icon package... Scratch that. I checked the oxygen icon package & did a search, but it doesn't include an Ark icon either.

Could you try to find where the icon is located?
(One of the easiest ways would probably be to open Synaptic, find the ark-kde4 package, & then click on the "Installed Files" tab.

In my system the icon-file used for ark ist named "utilities-file-archiver.png"

and is located for example in /usr/lib/kde4/share/icons/oxygen/48x48/apps/
This file is in the kde-icons-oxygen package.
So if this file isn`t there, try to reinstall this package.

Well, there it is... (I used the scalable icon though).

Thanks!

I wonder why it was not used though. I don't remember ever changing Ark's icon...

Hi echoes,
I assume this is solved for you now?

Well, yes, but only because I manually set it to the right icon.
