Bug Description

I am using an American Power Conversion (APC) PDU for our power configuration on MAAS and the IP for the APC PDU section keeps changing its value automatically.

If I changed one machine's IP for APC PDU, the other machines would be changed to the same one.

Hi there!

Could you provide any more information?
ie: What MAAS version is this affecting, are you interacting via cli or ui, and any log files for the affected instance showing what's happening at the time?

also, would you be able to replicate this with a fresh install at all, and provide your steps to do so?

Thanks!

Hi Jack,
Apologies for the late reply.

I am using MAAS version 3.4.3 and UI. There is no log file for this, unfortunately. The PDU's IPs of all machines just change instantly after I change on one of the machines.

This issue was intermittent before. After I decided to reserve the IP addresses for each PDU's DNS, the issue became consistent.

The issue persists with newly commissioned machines and brand-new APC PDUs as well.

If you could kindly point me to where I may be able to find where the log would be, that would be awesome. Thank you!

Hey there Al,

You can find the logs in /var/snap/maas/common/log/ if you're using the snap, or /var/log/maas/ if you're using the deb. The important ones are maas.log, regiond.log and rackd.log.
