Update: Tried on a second device and it is an issue with the first start of the application. There are several feeds and the load time is extremely slow. 3 min. I recommend shipping with fewer default RSS feeds loaded in the Hildon-ized version.

Perhaps an OEM/OSV will want to customize the feeds for themselves so it makes more sense to do it at this stage rather than upstream for everyone?

I am not keen to loose compatibility with Liferea upstream and as I said in my comment an OEM might want to customize their feeds anyway. Let me know what you think anyway
