Bug Description

This bug has already been discussed and solved here: http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/4964

I'm using 7.10 and this broke for me after upgrading to .21. I was just hoping this patch could make it into the next round of packaging or next release so I can go back to using mythbuntu packages.

Dang it I just upgraded to 8.04 and this is still broken :-/

When you are using a PVR 350's output, and you try and bring up the guide, it sometimes flashes and disappears, sometimes doesn't show up at all, sometimes locks up the frontend and you have to kill the X session. All sorts of bad things happen. It's a simple dang fix, but compiling mythtv from source brought about a whole slew of other issues I don't want to deal with.

Can you try to get upstream (ie the MythTV developers) to look at the patch? We usually only consider patches if we can cherry-pick them from the release-0-21-fixes branch.

@tkiehl:
If you installed standard package from the Ubuntu repository, I believe that version is missing a number of bug fixes. You can either build mythtv yourself, or subscribe to the Mythbuntu near-weekly bug-fix updates for 0.21 by following the directions here to enabling the repository for 0.21 Fixes Builds:

this fix is already in intrepid due to the new 0.21 fixes snapshot. read the upstream bug linked in here for more details.
