Bug Description

Binary package hint: inkscape

Just installed Hardy and Inkscape from the repositories.

I am using a resolution of 1024x768

The default layout of the Inkscape toolbars make the height of the application window greater that the space between the two Ubuntu default Panels.

For this reason I can not maximize the Inkscape window.

I have tried with other screen resolutions (1280x1024) and I do not have this problem.

Hold down ALT and drag the window till you can see the menubar, then maximise it. If you feel inkscape should work with smaller resolutions, please file a bug upstream.

Thanks for the tip, but it didn't work.

I also tried with the Alt+F10 Shortcut... didn't work.

A not very convenient solution is to remove one of the Inkscape default toolbar, after doing this Inskscape can be maximized in 1024x768.

How do I file the bug upstream?

It is not an invalid bug... I can confirm that it is a real bug.

I can also confirm this bug, but in my case it won't maximizing in any resolution.

Removing (or detaching) one of the default toolbars makes inskscape maximize correctly as mentioned.
I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 Beta.

Returning to invalid as this is not a bug with the ubuntu package, like I said, file it upstream. (look on inkscape.org)

For alt drag to work, compiz must be disabled.

Ischnura, invalid does not mean that the bug does not exist, but rather in this case, that is it not specific to the ubuntu package and should be handled upstream.

Got the same problem on Hardy with Inkscape 0.46 and 800x600. Inscape fills only 2/3 of the screen in horizontal when I try to maximize it.

Enable Compiz and you can maximize Inkscape and to unmaximize just press Alt and grap Inkscape window.
