trying to open calender freezes gpanel

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-applets

when i clicked on the date to open the calendar the panel depresses when clicked, but then does nothing else. and the panel itself is now frozen, cannot open menus, and lower panel will not un-hide.

the other applets, such as cpu freq monitor are still responsive, but the menus and launchers are not.

 this is all in hardy heron.

Hi all,

please re-open this bug because I'm using latest Ubuntu 8.04 and I still have this bug! I have exactly the same bug. Clock applet worked till yesterday, then since today I begin experiencing this problem.
