Bug Description

Binary package hint: splashy

If I run splashy with ENABLE_INITRAMFS=1 in /etc/default/splashy, and update-initramfs ran, on boot I just get a black screen after grub and then a reboot. Works fine if not placed in initramfs, or if not installed at all. I've removed usplash and I'm using a config which ran perfectly in gutsy. I tried to see if the gutsy package worked, but directfb has been updated so I couldn't. Any ideas? I'm pretty sure it crashes before anything is logged, but I'm happy to go digging if there's anything which could help.

I just tried with a compiled copy of 0.3.9, same effect.

I think this may be related to this bug:

As splashy relies on vga=xxx being enabled, so if it isn't working (my ttys are broken as well), then it's likely not doing splashy any favours either.
