Bug Description

Sometimes when I plug in an external monitor (HDMI cable), my gnome session crashes. I'm sent to the login screen and when I log in none of the stuff I had open is open any more. The expected behavior is that plugging in a monitor does not crash the session. This doesn't happen every time, but it has happened repeatedly.

Ubuntu version 24.04:
```
$ lsb_release -rd
No LSB modules are available.
Description: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
Release: 24.04
```

gnome-shell version 46.0:
```
$ apt-cache policy gnome-shell
gnome-shell:
  Installed: 46.0-0ubuntu5.1
  Candidate: 46.0-0ubuntu5.1
  Version table:
I've attached the bit of `journalctl` output from the time of the crash I experienced just now. I think the relevant bit is at 11:02:21:
but I don't have much experience reading these things; I've included some context before and after.
