Onboard crashes with segfault after upgrade to Ubuntu 24.04

Was working fine. Upgraded to XUbuntu 24.04. Onboard screen keyboard is displayed but then closes after approx 3 seconds. Visible effect is that the keyboard disappears. Confirmed on two different Ubuntu desktop PCs.
