Bug Description

When connecting a Vodafone Option 3G+ card as dialout modem (with extra config in /etc/ppp/peers/ppp0 and other files) through nm-applet, Manual Configuration, the applet doesn not reflect the ppp connection state as network connection that is up.
The connection does work an can be connected/disconnected through the applet. The internet connection works fine, in contrast of what the nm-applet says.

This is unfortunate, since it blocks access in this way to the vpnc part to establish a vpn connection. The vpn connection itself works fine through WiFi or wired LAN.
