It affects me as well, attaching a backtrace does not work as nautilus cannot be started to pick a file in Firefox so I have to insert it here in full length:

nautilus is the filemanager, it's not used to select files in other applications (that's the fileselector widget from GTK)

also you manage to get a backtrace from nautilus it seems?

From what you copied the crash is in

 #5 0x00007ba570201e0d in ProducerCleanup () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libnvidia-vulkan-producer.so

which means the nvidia 535 driver, which sounds similar to bug #2063827. Could you try if switching to 550 driver fixes the issue for you?

Thanks, this confirms other applications are affected as well. Following the other bug you linked, I can confirm that (at least) GNOME settings and the system monitor are affected as well.

I wonder why 535 was the most recent driver offered by "Software & Updates -> Additional Drivers". Anyway, switching to the nvidia 550 driver seems to resolve this issue for me fully.

Thank you!

The rational is on bug #2061830 but basically the new version was available too late in the cycle to be properly tested before release but it will enabled there once we have confidence it's working correctly

affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) → nvidia-graphics-drivers-535 (Ubuntu)
