Bug Description

Kernel updates on Apr 8 '24 started the issue of keyboard not working after sleep/suspend.
Kernel 5.15.0-97 works, other kernels after 97 need grub modified to make them work.
Changed:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash i8042.dumbkbd=1 i8042.nomux=1 i8042.noaux=1"

Only negative side effect of the i8042.dumbkbd entry is that the caps-lock light does not work. Otherwise on suspend and wake the keyboard works.

I even tried the 6.6.0-26 kernel with same issue.

version.log: Ubuntu 5.15.0-105.115-generic 5.15.148

alan: ~ $ lsb_release -rd
Description: Linux Mint 21.3
Release: 21.3

No surprise but I loaded LMDE6 Faye and it too has the same issue. 6.1.x something. I didn't take too much note of the kernel number since I was going to erase the install because it fails. I don't need to have two failing systems.

I have the same issue on Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS after the kernel update from:
Linux laptop 6.5.0-26-generic to Linux laptop 6.5.0-27-generic
