Bug Description

Minor thing, but it's starting to bug me more and more nowadays .....

When in a split transaction, the memo field sometimes nudges the Amount field off the right of the default window size. Makes seeing the amount value quickly not so quick, as you need to change the Memo column size.

This only occurs when the memo field value is larger than the (default?) size of it's column and so HomeBank widens the memo column a little (but not big enough to necessarily accommodate all the characters). Maybe I'm being a bit verbose in my Memos at times but limiting the impact of column width would be useful.
[I use Memo field to document something about some transactions to remind me when I look back later]

In combination with this, I also notice the amount field is much larger than seems necessary.

For example: On my Surface Pro screen, the Amount field is three cm wide, with a suitable width that would accommodate amounts even as large as $99 million (including 2 decimal places for cents) being more like half that (1½ cm).
The column width needed to display $9 trillion with cents would be a little less than 2 cms.
These observations are without comma separators (see wish item 3. below).

My wish would be for the column width defaults:

1. prevent Memo (& category etc?) field width forcing the amount field off to the right of the currently available window width.

2. amount field be narrowed to save some 'white space' within the "Split" window. From my usual usage, 2/3rds the current size should be adequate including room for #3 below.
NB: this may be affected by GTK font size settings.

3. amount to be shown in same format as in other places within HomeBank.
e.g. -99888777.22 be shown as -99,888,777.22.

If you could provide some screenshot of the problem you have it will help my visual mind ;)

This attachment shows the standard split screen I get.

PS: I added the red line as the screenshot doesn't show the column boundary too well.

This attachment shows the split screen column widths when memo text is larger. You may recognize the text "d=n v=m" in Memo from an earlier report I commented on 😉

PS: I added the red line as the screenshot doesn't show the column boundary too well.
