Bug Description

Ubuntu Budgie - daily noble 8th April

See the tarball for the /var/log/installer logs

Using virtualbox, attempt to install when the installer appears on boot to the live-session

Choose all the default options. When the last screen (the summary) is expected to appear then you see a installer page saying that something as gone wrong - i.e. no summary is displayed.

When I tested this on yesterdays ISO, closing the installer, running snap refresh ubuntu-desktop-bootstrap --candidate and then rerunning the installer works correctly.

---

workaround:
* close installer UI
* sudo snap remove ubuntu-budgie-installer
* sudo snap restart ubuntu-desktop-bootstrap

David, Brian, thanks for the reports.

I'm going to merge 2060569 into this one - mind that 2060569 has more logs. They do appear to be the same root cause.

Not reproducible on Ubuntu Desktop, did see it with the 20240408 Budgie ISO and no snap refresh, BIOS boot.

Root cause: the ubuntu-budgie-installer was present, with 2 snaps attempting to provide subiquity behavior. It appears that subiquity from ubuntu-budgie-installer was matched with the ubuntu-desktop-bootstrap client.

Fixing by removing ubuntu-budgie-installer in livecd-rootfs.
