GUI freezes when launching classicmenu-indicator

As the app loads, the graphical system freezes, mouse moves but no actions can be made. Still able to switch to a tty console
The bug appears with nvidia or nouveau drivers, ubuntu or xanmod kernel
Uninstalling classicmenu-indicator solves the problem
