Snap updates not displayed in Discover

Hi, feedback on Discover:

If there is an update for a snap package, the snap package updates are not appearing in Discover, even though you often search for updates.
But if you look for the snap update in the terminal, the snaps update.
I didn't install any additional snaps, just the snaps that came with the kubuntu installation.

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

I have the same issue, discover do not update snap package.
Installing theme is still possible but not update available (example with firefox, still in firefox 122 while snap refresh, update to 124. It can generate secure issue, i think it's a big issue.

It's mandatory to make snap refress until is fixed

Hello,

I just installed Kubuntu 22.04.4 and I noticed after updates via Discover that Firefox is still in version 122.0.1 even if the snap version is 124.0.1. After checking, it seems this is related to snapd update.

I add a screen to show that the system indicates "up-to-date" with an old version of Firefox.

In fact, it's possible to fix that by using the terminal but this is not obvious for a beginner.

I hope this will be fixed in the next release.

I add that I tried a fresh install of Kubuntu 23.10 and after updating the system, I still have Firefox in version 118, see screen. So the bug is still there.

I would like to try with 24.04 current ISO but I got an error during the installation...

The snap backend needs some love. Contributors welcome.

Good news ! The upstream bug is now marked as resolved :)

The question now is : Is the fix will be deployed on the current versions or only on 24.04 ?

I am afraid the bad news is it was fixed in 6.1 We will not be going to plasma 6 until 24.10 sorry.
