Can you please enable backports and try the newer version 23.08.3 and let me know if it still an issue?
Thanks

I add ppa/backport
now I use the correct version 23.08.3 but with same result :
no printing and the following error in syslog :

usage: lpr [-cdfghlmnpqrstv] [-#num] [-1234 font] [-C class] [-i [numcols]]
[-J job] [-Pprinter] [-T title] [-U user] [-wnum] [name ...]

is there a mean to get the lpr command generated somewhere ?

Can you please try and install cups-bsd

nice catch - that was it : lpr package installed instead of cups-bsd

it now works ok.

shouldn't okular introduce a dependency on cups-bsd ?

Yes, it seems like it should. It is too late fr mantic, but will fix it for noble. Thanks for your report!

Alright, it seems it is already fixed for noble, hence why I didn't get error.
