Min, Max & Close Icons broken in Hardy beta

Bug Description
In Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy (beta 1), running IceWM, I find that EVERY application I run has strange "Minimize, Maximize, Close" icons in the upper right-hand corner of the window. If my cursor passes over the icons, they turn black, or some strange combinations of colors/images. Just to make it clear what I'm talking about, I posted two screenshots of an Xterm window here:

Note that the problem only appears with IceWM, and only with Ubuntu 8.04. Using Gnome or other lightweight managers (such as FVWM-Crystal) does not show this problem. Nor does the problem exist with Ubuntu 7.10 or earlier versions that I've tested.
I can also confirm this bug present on a fresly kubuntu-kde4 8.04 install
