Bug Description
Circa 3.12, but has been in place for awhile.
I thought there might be a bug for this already, but I couldn't find one.
Right now circ events update the Last Edit Date and Last Editor of copies. This totally obscures actual edits to a copy, like when/if some of the attributes are changed and by who.
If this is being fueled by the status changing, then I would be amenable to losing the tracking on who changed the status of an item, to be able to gain insight into who is actually changing the attributes of an item.
There's actually another wishlist bug to be able to track who changed an item's status, so I would rather see that functionality covered separately there. (Bug 1827128)
So I guess the bug itself would be: changes to the Status should not update the Last Editor and Last Edit Date on items (assuming that's the trigger).
