Bug Description

lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu hardy (development branch)
Release: 8.04

I don't know the name of the source package, but after a while of using a program (specifically firefox 3 beta that is included with the beta version of 8.04), after closing, random programs crash or won't start without freezing (terminal, firefox again, etc...). It requires me to restart my computer. Sometimes the whole desktop will just freeze as a result.

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please answer these questions:

* Is this reproducible?
* If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?

This will help us to find and resolve the problem. Also, before attempting to reproduce the problem, please make sure you are running the latest updates for Hardy; an updated Firefox was released just a few days ago. Finally, what hardware configuration do you have?

Thanks.

Is this reproducible with latest firefox 3.0 beta5 in Hardy repos? does this also happen in firefox-2.0 in Hardy. What are the other apps that are crashing? Please attach the crash log found in /var/crash for firefox3.0
