Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

It seems while using compiz, hardy heron becomes very sluggish, including keyboard lag and scrolling lag, not everybody is affected by this bug, but it seems that a few intel video card users and at least one ATI card user are experiencing this problem. Everything is fine while not using compiz, so that seems to be where the problem lies. See http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=4565193#post4565193

I have to same problem on Intel 945 chipset. Scolling lags and moving windows/wobbly windows lags, but everything else runs fine (cube, show cursor, 3d windows).

okay, well, a workaround exists for INTEL cards ONLY.

Adding this to my xorg.conf device section sovled it:
Option "AccelMethod" "exa"
Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy"
Option "ExaNoComposite" "false"

This is for intel cards only.

if you are on ATI and having this problem, good luck.

How do we prevent this from happening in the first place?
