ESC closes whiteboard without any prompt

Bug Description

(guess I was supposed to post this here)

since a lot of other software uses ESC to exit a command or a function within the workspace, it happens a lot of times that users accidentally hit ESC while in whiteboard mode, thus closing and losing the content of the whiteboard. Solving this would be as easy as prompting "Do you really want to close this whiteboard? Y / N" when hitting ESC.

Can you tell me which platform/OS you are running because on my Mac I get a prompt both for Command(Ctrl)-W and Esc. But this is only when I have a chat or groupchat whiteboard. Normal messages wont generate a prompt. Is it that you mean?

Added warning for all chat/groupchat whiteboard sessions.
Added generic mechanism to detect any unsaved changes which is used for normal messages.

Even better would be a "Do not ask this again" checkbox option in this dialog, combined with an option to enable this again in the preferences.

I followed the convention used in TextEdit.app in my Mac. Aside from
the button texts which are hardcoded, the dialog is pretty standard. I
think one always should ask this. This is how most document based
programs work.

Adding such a checkbox option doesn't break this convention. It only gives the user the possibility to break this convention if he/she wants to break it.
