Bug Description
The system has fwupd < 1.7.x won't be able to update device firmware, because of [1]. Here is the announcement from upstream [2]. Would like to know the policy of Ubuntu for the codename <= 18.04.

Hi Kai-Chuan,
In 18.04 under ESM/Ubuntu Pro, where feasible we will backport security fixes to fwupd.
If you want to run the latest supported version, the alternative is to use the snap version of fwupd.
