Bug Description
wifi doesn't want to connect using networkmanager (hardy heron)
When i do it manually wpa does work and i can dhclient ath0 for an ip. NetworkManager seems to freeze (only dies when i send it a -9)
Manual doesn't work all the time, i have to ctrl-c and restart wpa_supplicant -iath0 -c ./wpa_sup.conf a couple of times before it will give a CTRL-EVENT-CONN- a connection to the wifi router (speedtouch 780 w/ firmware release: 6.2.17.5)
See below (after sysinfo) for the problems i run into when trying it manually
system info:

This is what happens when wpa_supplicant doesn't want to connect; NetworkManager isn't running so that won't collide.
user@host~$ sudo wpa_supplicant -iath0 -c ./wpasupplicant

WPA: CCMP is used, but EAPOL-Key descriptor version (1) is not 2.
[waited a few minutes before killing this process with a ctrl-c]
CTRL-EVENT-
And retrying it by restarting wpa_supplicant (have to do it 'a couple of times' before it usually works):
user@host~$ sudo wpa_supplicant -iath0 -c ./wpasupplicant
Trying to associate with 00:90:d0:de:73:05 (SSID='rhuagh' freq=2412 MHz)

Now with a sudo dhclient ath0 i'm provided with an dhcp address and wifi seems to work.
Most likely a duplicate of bug #204931
