Can't get a vector PDF

I'm using the March 11, 2008 Inkscape 0.46 build with Ubuntu Gutsy and I can't seem to get a vector PDF export of my files. Instead, the resulting PDFs contain bitmaps. With previous preleases, I got vector files. If you've removed that capability, can you add it back in? It does make the program less useful as a PDF editor as files are not rountripable.

Oops. Sorry about the previous post. Anyway, I tried the latest development snapshot of Inkscape, Inkscape0803220224, on Windows and noticed a different problem. I get vector PDFs on Windows. I'm assuming that this is because the Ubuntu package uses Cairo 1.4 but the development snapshot for Windows includes a more up-to-date Cairo. If you look at the enclosed PDF, however, you'll notice a different problem: the Nimbus Sans text on the right-hand-side comes out formatted as being in white. This problem doesn't occur when the font is switched to Times New Roman. The OpenType Nimbus Sans file I'm using on my system was included in a previous post.

Can you let us know if this is still an issue with a more recent build? There have been a number of fixes to pdf output during this current development cycle.

I just upgraded to Intrepid Ibex and, with the default Inkscape package (0.46 10-24-2008), this problem seems to be fixed.
