This crash has the same stack trace characteristics as bug #199878. However, the latter was already fixed in an earlier package version than the one in this report. This might be a regression or because the problem is in a dependent package.

I do, I think. I'm not sure if it's the same bug, but the initial description the bug report gives me is. Ever since I upgraded to the Hardy beta, I can't access any of the GNOME related appearance settings. I have to use the failsafe GNOME log in to avoid having everything look messed up, although I still can't use desktop effects.

I still get the same problem (i believe it's the same) on up-to-date dist-upgraded Hardy.

I have the problem when i switched from nvidia-glx to nvidia-glx-new drivers.... It switched my package installation automatically when i want to activate the 2D/3D acceleration in order to get the desktop visual effects. When it reboots, I have first the gnome-preferences saying that it relaunch too many time!
Video configuration: nvidia driver, high resolution, GeForce6600GT graphic chip card.

Hi,

I think this bug should be fixed with the
latest upload of gnome-desktop - 1:2.22.1-0ubuntu5,
can anyone test it and confirm?

Thanks,

James

Hi. Where/how can we get this latest version, 1:2.22.1-0ubuntu5? The pool appears to have only 2.22.1-0ubuntu2 as far as I can see, but it may be that I don't know where to look.

This problem's just run into me as I recently upgraded my hardy install. I'm using ATI, however! Any ideas?

Hi Volodya,

That is a different bug, you should open a new bug in order to get
that fixed.

Thanks,
