Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.24

I'm using the BCM4306 version of F5D7010, but I don't this bug is related to bug #182716. The card actually works with the b43 driver, but only if the card is inserted before booting.

If I plug in the card after boot the b43 driver is loaded without any error messages. But I can't see any networks, iwlist reports "wlan0_rename Interface doesn't support scanning : Network is down". Lshw says that the device is DISABLED, like this:
  *-network
       description: Network controller
product: BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Controller
       vendor: Broadcom Corporation
       physical id: 0
       bus info: pci@0000:02:00.0
       version: 03
       width: 32 bits
       clock: 33MHz
       capabilities: bus_master
       configuration: driver=b43-pci-bridge latency=64 module=ssb
  *-network DISABLED
       description: Wireless interface
       physical id: 3
       logical name: wlan0_rename
       serial: 00:30:bd:fc:25:9e
       capabilities: ethernet physical wireless
       configuration: broadcast=yes multicast=yes wireless=IEEE 802.11g

If I unplug the card after boot I can't get it to work with b43 again. The bcm43xx driver always works, but I have to load it manually.

Hi Lars,

Unfortunately we're currently in Beta Freeze for Hardy so only critical fixes are being pulled into the kernel. I'm going to retarget this for the Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. Thanks.

This is working for me on 8.04.1, but I'm not sure when it started to work. Since no one else seems to be having this problem I'm marking it as invalid.
