gnash shows no videos and garbles display of other flash contents

Binary package hint: gnash

gnash shows just a white window for any flash movie (e.g. all
from http://www.ubuntuvideo.com/).
And it completely garbles the output for http://www.flashearth.com/.

I am also experiencing these problems running Intrepid Alpha2 (i368). I am using a GeForce 8600GT video card and the Nvidia xorg driver. See attached for screen shots.

The Ubuntu video link seems to now point to a completely unrelated site written in Chinese.

Flash Earth now displays correctly with gnash 0.8.8-0ubuntu0 (obtained from the Ubuntu Finland Team PPA at https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-fi/+archive/ppa ), although panning and zooming are very slow.

This bug has been marked as Fix Committed for over a year. If the fix has made it into Ubuntu, please mark this bug as Fix Released. If the fix has been released upstream, but not Ubuntu, create a new bug asking for the new version and tag it with upgrade-software-version. If this bug has not been fixed anywhere, change the status back to Confirmed.
