Bug Description

I am using Hardy amd64 with all updates applied and Glest 3.0.0-0ubuntu1.

Whenever I start a game in Glest and try to send a unit to do something, Glest crashes instantly when the red arrow appears, showing where the unit is going. I did use autoconfig in the in-game menu (as proposed in the man entry), which recognized my ATI card and set the number of lights to 1.

This seems to be a problem of the ATI fglrx-driver 1:7.1.0-8-3+2.6.24.11-12.31 I am using. The glest forum (www.glest.org) knows many problems with ATI drivers...
With the open source driver, it works. But as there is no 3d acceleration, it is quite unusable.

This can be fixed by installing the catalyst 8.9 driver from ATI's website.

This bug report was filed against an old version of Ubuntu.
Can you confirm whether this is still an issue in natty?

If you don't mind, it would be very helpful if you could update the bug
report in launchpad to 'Fix Released' if it is no longer an issue for
you, or if it is still occurring under natty, please tag the bug 'natty'
so it's easier for us to track.

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help.
