Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

I have 2 keyboards connected to this switch, and I must've dropped the one for the linux box at some point while configuring Pidgin. The status message "m,.vzm." is a typo that lists me as available. I can't seem to delete this status message, as it doesn't appear in the status menu delete/modify options.

You can edit the status messages available manually in ~/.purple/status.xml but if you entered it in the text box on the Buddy List rather than in the Saved Statuses dialog there's no way in the GUI to delete the status message.

Do I need a terminal window in order to do that?

No, you can do it from Nautilus or your favorite text editor. Although I would make sure Pidgin is closed when you do it to ensure your changes don't get overwritten. I don't think it's needed like it is in Windows, but it's a good habit to get in to (not editing config files for programs that are currently running).

I use Pidgin 2.4.1, I have this bug too.
Thank you for showing me the status.xml file path (I was seeking a .pindgin folder rather than a .purple).
Will it be corrected in the next release (i.e. the statuses added by typing on the keyboard will be manageable the same way Saved statuses are) ?

Yeah, I think it would be better if you could delete the statuses from the GUI.

the issue is somewhat similar to what described on http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/7389
