Bug Description

Binary package hint: moblin-applets

In moblin-applets 0.42 on Ubuntu HardyPPA image (menlow-lpia-ubuntu-hardy-ppa), click Keyboard applets cause desktop restart.

Reproduced steps:

1. Click keyboard applet from Settings.

Current result:
-------------
In step1, hildon-desktop restart.

Expected result:
-------------
In step1, it should launch keyboard applet while hildon-desktop doesn't restart.

Suggest set importance to "Critical" because it badly impacts user to use the device.

I don't see the desktop restart because the latest methodology has all the applets exist as separate processes. moblin-keyboard is launched and crashes, which is bad but less catastrophic than bringing the whole desktop down.

Fix committed in version 0.56, I completely removed all redundant code that we no longer use and changed the behavior of the keyboard applet to use gconf instead of the .xml file in the user's home dir. The next step is to update matchbox-keyboard-manager to listen to the gconf change instead of the .xml file.
