Bug Description

Binary package hint: amarok

Using 2:1.4.8-0ubuntu3~gutsy1.

When playing a song that is much shorter than the tracks actual length, the track will not submit if the song ends before it hits 50% of the expected playtime.

Example:
Song A is damaged and displays a time of 10 minutes when it is actually 1 minute.
After 1 minute of playing, Amarok goes to the next song, and does not submit it to Last.fm, despite that the amount that the song actually played was over 30 seconds.

Expected behavior:
Song A is damaged and displays a time of 10 minutes when it is actually much shorter.
When the song ends, if the playtime of the song is less than 50% of expected playtime, check to see if time played before end of song reached was more than 30 seconds.
If so, submit to Last.fm despite 50% of expected length not playing before song stopped.
If not, don't submit.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?

We are closing this bug report because it lacks the information we need to investigate the problem, as described in the previous comments. Please reopen it if you can give us the missing information, and don't hesitate to submit bug reports in the future. To reopen the bug report you can click on the current status, under the Status column, and change the Status back to "New". If you could test with Amarok 2 (see kubuntu.org), that would be great too. Thanks again!
