Bug Description

Discovered in Lubuntu live, found later that it affects Lubuntu installed too:

I cannot start the terminal window, neither via ctrl+alt+t
nor via the menu. But it exists, as I could see from a
virtual screen (when trying to install it, I was told that
the current version is already there. So it is there and
either does not work or cannot be reached (by the standard
methods). I installed xterm and ran ubuntu-bug qterminal
in order to create this bug report.

Further testing:

I installed xterm in a text screen, when back to the graphics screen started xterm and there tried

---
$ qterminal
Segmentation fauit (core dumped)
---

So the bug seems to be in the terminal emulator.

Basically, qterminal is still at 1.3.0 but all the core libraries have been updated.

I'm working on a resolution for this.

I noticed I was impacted by this yesterday (after reboot).

Occurs on multiple machines too. I reported on #lubuntu-devel

<guiverc> qterminal won't start on this (noble) box; segfault.. same result on another noble box too ... Likely just temporary issue as I note "libegl1, libgl1, libglvnd0 & libglx0" are reported as obsolete; yet all upgrades applied currently available...

(neither system would let me ubuntu-bug report, with the warning of obsolete packages mentioned.. and yeah I noticed 1.3)

Thanks Simon.

Yup. I get the following (though I used xfce4-terminal):

$ qterminal
Segmentation fauit (core dumped)
