Bug Description

QSC is a SIP provider using sip.qsc.de and the qsc.de realm.

In Hardy, Ekiga (2.0.12-0ubuntu1 using libopal 2.2.11~dfsg1-3ubuntu2) fails to log in. (The versions in Gutsy fail as well)

In Feisty, Ekiga (2.0.3-0ubuntu8 using libopal 2.2.3-dfsg-2ubuntu2.1) succeeds.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Thanks in advance.

Hello Rotbart van Dainig,
Would you be kind enough to try the current Ekiga development version?

For Hardy:

1- Add this GPG key to verify the repository:
# Add the key to your key list
$ gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 3596ED6E
# Add the key to apt utils
$ gpg --export --armor 3596ED6E | sudo apt-key add -

2- Add those repositories to your source.list:
# The Ekiga SVN spashot repository
deb http://snapshots.ekiga.net/snapshots/ubuntu/ hardy main
# The hardy-updates repository (official)
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ hardy-updates main multiverse

3- Install Ekiga:
$ sudo aptitude install ekiga-snapshot

(optionnaly you can add more support installing those packages:
libpt-snapshot-plugins-v4l #for webcam support using only V4L API
libpt-snapshot-plugins-avc #FireWire camera AVC video support
libpt-snapshot-plugins-dc #FireWire camera DC video support
libopal-snapshot-plugins-h264 #The H264 Video codec)

Regards,
Yannick

Thank you very much Rotbart van Dainig :-)

3.0 is target to Ubuntu Intrepid (october 2008). You can help us to make this release even better reporting your issue -calling is unreliable- to the Ekiga bug tracking system directly: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=ekiga

If so, use those tags:
Version: SVN trunk
Component: General

If Ekiga crash (stop responding or just break down), we will need a "backtrace", if Ekiga still works but hang up your call we will need a "debug output", here are directions to get those:
http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Debugging_Ekiga#How_to_get_a_debug_output_from_Ekiga

You can setup Ekiga to provide both in the case you don't which one to chose:
http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Compile_your_own_SVN_version_of_Ekiga_on_Ubuntu#Quick_instructions_to_run_Ekiga_for_debugging_purpose

Best regards,
Yannick
