Bug Description

Binary package hint: vim-latexsuite

Hello,

I would like to use a feature of the vim-latexsuite, but it won't work in a correct manner.
Here's the requested info:

1) 7.10
2) vim-latexsuite
3) 20060325-3
4) \cite completion on hitting F9 button, as described in: http://vim-latex.sourceforge.net/documentation/latex-suite/latex-completion-cite.html
5) The vim-buffer splits into two sections: The original code buffer and a new empty buffer named '__OUTLINE__'

I tried using the original addon from http://vim-latex.sourceforge.net/, but the problem persists.

Greetings,
heyhan

Try disabling the Gnome Compiz effects settings in System > Appearance. The advanced visual effects trap the F9 key instead of Gvim. On my machine, with advanced desktop settings enabled F9 dims the screen instead of calling the citation list.

Laurie, the different usage of the F9-key does not seem to be the problem, since vim-latexsuite is reacting.

Heyhan, are you sure your bib-file is addressed correctly?

It would be useful to have a minimal version of your .tex and .bib files.

Compiz is disabled on my system.

Sorry - I cannot provide a bib-file, since I upgraded to Hardy Heron already and the problem went away.
Meanwhile the bib-file went through major changes and I don't have the old one.

Okay, since this problem is currently not reproducible by anyone around (and seems to be fixed in Hardy) I close this bug.

If anyone stumbles about it again and is able to provide further information, please reopen it.

Happy TeXing ;)

This problem is reproducible if compiz fusion is turn on. Compiz use the key F9 for the "Wizard Layer" .
Just turn off the "Wizard Layer" or give it another key binding. This fix this issue.
